About

Pocket Verdict started as a shared notes doc between three friends who kept arguing about which mobile games were worth the storage space. It grew into a small site because we got tired of downloading something based on a flashy trailer and deleting it twenty minutes later. Everything you read here comes from someone who actually installed the game and played it.

We cover every genre, not just the trendy ones. A good match-three deserves as much care as a sprawling turn-based RPG, and a clever little arcade racer can be more fun than a bloated open world. Our job is to tell you what a game feels like in your hands during a real session, whether that is on a bus or on the couch.

Games get picked for review a few ways: readers suggest them, we notice something climbing the charts, or one of us stumbles onto a hidden thing nobody talks about. We do not review anything we have not played for at least several hours. If a game bores us or falls apart, we say so.

The site stays independent. Nobody pays us to like their game, and if that ever changes you will read about it here first.

Marta Kovač — Marta has been writing about games for over a decade and plays far too many turn-based strategies. She handles most of the RPG and strategy coverage on the site.
