Emberfall Saga

★★★★★ 4.6 Editor rating

Emberfall Saga is the rare mobile RPG that trusts you to read. The writing has actual voice, the party members bicker in believable ways, and the central mystery about why the sun is dimming kept me tapping through cutscenes I would normally skip. It looks like a hand-drawn storybook and moves at a comfortable pace.

Combat is turn-based with a stance system: switch between offensive and guarded footing and the whole encounter changes. Mid-game bosses forced me to actually think about turn order rather than mashing the strongest attack. Progression is generous with skill points, so building a character the way you want feels open rather than gated.

My only gripe is the inventory menu, which gets cluttered fast. Otherwise this is a genuine, meaty RPG that happens to live on a phone, and it saves your progress cleanly for short bursts.
